🌿 “But is it ALL NATURAL?” 🌿
We get this question a lot, so let’s talk about something that can be a little confusing: essential oils vs. fragrance oils.
There’s a common idea that if something is “all-natural,” it automatically means it’s safer.
But… natural doesn’t always mean safe for everyone.
Poison ivy is 100% natural. 🌿😂
And yet, some people can touch it with little or no reaction, while others can develop a pretty significant skin reaction.
The same basic idea applies to fragrance ingredients. Natural and synthetic ingredients can both cause sensitivities in some people. What matters is the specific ingredient, the concentration, the way it’s used, and the individual person’s sensitivity. Even essential oils contain many naturally occurring chemical compounds and some have specific usage restrictions.
And here’s something that surprises a lot of people…
🌹 It can take around 60,000 roses to produce just ONE ounce of rose essential oil! 🌹
That is an incredible amount of plant material for a tiny amount of oil.
Essential oils are beautiful, amazing ingredients—and we use them too! But we don't believe that “essential oil = automatically safer” or “fragrance oil = automatically bad.”
In fact, fragrance oils can contain a combination of different aromatic materials, including naturally derived ingredients, essential oils, natural isolates, and/or synthetic aroma molecules, depending on the formulation.

We carefully research the fragrance materials we purchase and choose fragrances from suppliers that provide documentation showing conformity with applicable IFRA Standards for their intended use. IFRA Standards establish restrictions and maximum concentrations for certain fragrance materials based on safety assessments.
And here's another thing we're proud of:
👉 We don't automatically use the maximum allowed amount.
For many of our products, we formulate below the supplier's stated maximum fragrance usage level when it makes sense for the product.
And for those who are especially sensitive to fragrance, many of our products are available in a fragrance-free option. ❤️
Because we know that everyone's skin is different.
And remember—fragrance isn't the only thing that can cause sensitivity. Some commercial products contain numerous other ingredients, preservatives, colorants, surfactants, or other components that may not agree with everyone's skin either.
That's why we don't want you to simply take our word for it.
